Govardhan Puja

Montclair, CA, 2008

Govardhan Puja, also known as "Annakut", commemorates the day Krishna lifted the mountain of Govardhan to protect the people in and around the mountain from Lord Indra. On this day, Krishna taught people to worship nature and the mountains that bring rain to the Earth. A huge variety of food items are offered to Krishna for this celebration. Govardhan Puja was celebrated on October 29, 2008 at the Vedic Temple, Los Angeles (Montclair).
