The Temple held a wide variety of weekend activities. On Sunday, June 8, the Vedic Temple hosted for the first time a Vedic Expo which encompassed a wide
variety of events and activies.
A panel discussion, workshops,
astrology readings, sattvic cooking, henna, music, yoga and meditation were featured
at the event in conjunction with
the many regular weekend activities conducted at the Temple. Approximately 250-300 people enjoyed the weekend events at the Temple.
During the day, Table Music was performed by Pandit Abhijit
Banerjee and his students. In addition, Guru Mantra Initiates met for chanting and a lively discussion.
Later in the afternoon, a special Dakshinamurthy Puja was offered to celebrate the recent graduation of a university student,
and the Temple welcomed visitors from the Jain Center, San Francisco;
these 55 Jain devotees performed puja for Mahavir and the 24 Enlightened Thirthankaras.
The festive day ended with a grand procession of Sri Ananda Venkateswara around the Temple followed by Maha Aarti.
